Buchanan's Litigation Co-chair Steven Bizar Presents on Economics in Antitrust at NERA Conference

Philadelphia, PA, July 9, 2010 — On July 8, 2010, Steven E. Bizar — a shareholder and co-chair of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Litigation Section — spoke at a conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico, presented by NERA Economic Consulting — a global firm of experts dedicated to applying economic, finance and quantitative principles to complex business and legal challenges.

The conference is held annually and focuses on current topics in antitrust and trade regulation law. It is attended by some of the country's leading practitioners, including representatives at the assistant attorney general level from the Department of Justice's Antitrust Division, as well as several commissioners of the Federal Trade Commission.

Bizar participated in a panel on "Economics in Antitrust." Specifically, he presented "Economic Disputes at Class Certification After Hydrogen Peroxide" that focused on the precedent-setting decision In re Hydrogen Peroxide Antitrust Litigation, in which he represented defendant Arkema Inc. in front of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
